Japanese Language Summer School

Since last academic year (2024), we have been offering a Japanese Summer School to help students improve their Japanese language abilities and learn about Japanese culture.
This academic year (2025) we will offer students from our overseas partner institutions the opportunity to participate in an intensive two-week program in July to study Japanese.
The program also includes many opportunities for cultural exchange with Japanese students and hands-on experiences with Japanese culture.

Number of Participants 16 (Minimum number of participants required: 12)
Schedule July 7 (Monday) – July 21 (Monday), 2025
Program Content 30 classes in total (each class is 90 minutes), including Japanese language lessons and cultural experiences
Location Fuji Women's University, Kita 16-jō Campus
Eligibility
  • Must be a full-time student enrolled at one of Fuji Women's University's overseas partner institutions throughout the program period
  • Must have studied Japanese for at least one year (two semesters or more) at the partner institution by the start of the program
  • Must be able to read and write hiragana and katakana

Note: The Japanese language classes will be offered at beginner to intermediate levels.

Program Fee 210,000 JPY per person
Includes tuition, accommodation (twin room, meals not included), airport transfers, teaching materials, cultural experience fees, insurance (Inbound Travel Insurance), and welcome/farewell party expenses
Application Period April 7 (Monday) – May 18 (Sunday), 2025
If you require a visa to enter Japan, please make sure to apply by April 30 (Wednesday).
Application Method & Documents Please submit items 1–4 listed below via email to cep@fujijoshi.ac.jp during the application period.
  1. Application Form (must include university name, applicant’s full name, gender, and contact information)
  2. Copy of Passport
  3. Proof of Language Proficiency (i.e., Japanese language ability)
    If you do not have a certificate, please indicate the textbook you are using and your progress (e.g., up to which lesson you have studied) on the application form.
  4. Certificate of Enrollment (Not required if the partner university submits all applications collectively.)
